More Pictures from the South Platte River (3/6/10)

Photo Op at our favorite river

We just had to show "Pop-Pop" (as Tommy so cutely dubbed Grandpa three days ago!) the South Platte River. Tommy LOVED Chuck and would call out "POP-POP!!" over and over to get his attention on car rides, etc. That boy just loves attention! Grandpa was so patient with Tommy's antics and so wonderfully put up with Tommy's constant need to interact with him. Grandparents are so fun like that!

Sibling Love

These big sisters LOVE their little Tom-Tom! Paris and Tommy are BIG bath buddies. Tommy cracks me up saying his version of "bath" (which sounds similar to his word for ball b/c it is just the first two sounds...said really loudly, "BAH!") After Tommy proclaims, "BAH!" he tilts his head sideways and looks at Paris questioningly, very clearly asking her to join him using just his body language! He may not have many words, but the boy can sure make himself understood using his body! He daily uses pats and points in the most hilarious ways to ask us questions. Most often, he is asking permission to do something like go outside or eat something he's not sure we will permit. His latest feat was communicating that he wanted to push the chair around from the table to the sink to play "water." He does everything independently, from collecting the plastic cups and strainer to pushing the chair into position to turning the sink water on and off. There is NO shortage of water on the floor and counter when he is done, that's for sure. He LOVES this activity, though, and I'm so glad he asks permission before commencing!

Paris is often found side hugging Tommy and kissing the top of his head, usually two times in a row. She said a few days ago, "Mommy, I'm SO glad we have Tommy! He's SO cute!!" And Mommy says, "You're SO cute too, Paris!! I'm glad we have you!!" :) Those are the comments that I want to treasure that my precious kiddos surprise me with at the most unexpected times!

Our "Mr. Dribbler" (Coach Don's Award Name for Fletch)

We loved Coach Don! Fletcher thought it was so cool (and Charlie too!) that his basketball coach owns our local Chickfila. Coach treated all the players on his team and their families to dinner and dessert at his restaurant where he gave out gifts and player "titles" at the end of the season. He said Fletcher was the best dribbler on the team and that he loved watching him get the ball and dribble it all the way down the court before the other team even knew what had happened. What an encouraging, fun coach Don was for all the boys!

Our Cheerleaders

The girls loved their cheerleading season. Boy, did Paris' confidence increase throughout the season. She actually looked forward to her name being called and having to run out center court by the last few games! Both girls loved doing the cheer dance at halftime. Sarah was chosen to co-lead the dance center stage for the Awards ceremony which she was super excited about doing. The girls thought it was hilarious when they did the "Funky Chicken" song/dance and got to be Arnold Schwarsenager with big muscle arms during the basketball games. Paris would frequently glance at us to see if we were watching her and paying attention to the cheerleaders. Both the girls wanted Fletcher to watch them, and he too wanted them to see his games. Siblings are so funny!
