Tommy and his Tiny Batman and "Him fly?" obsession

Tommy asks a lot, "Him fly?" about different toys that he's playing with, mostly superheroes and different people characters. Today he was on a "Him fly?" questioning streak but stopped midstream and said, "No. Him no cape. Him walk!" Apparently, capes are what cause you to fly. He's confused about Batman having a cape, though, and still not being a flying superhero!

There are currently three small toy Batmans in our home but Tommy has only one that he loves. If we can't find his favorite Batman and try to present him with one of the others, he rejects the alternatives and states, "No. Tiny Batman!" He means, "I only want my favorite Batman which I consider smaller than the other toy Batmans." So, we all know what Tommy wants when he walks around asking for tiny Batman. :)

Speaking of tiny and Tommy idiosyncrasies, he has a melt down when other people ride his Strider running bike screaming, "Tiny bike! Tiny bike!" He thinks that if anyone other than himself rides his bike that the seat will shrink down lower making his bike "tiny." This has happened a few times when his older siblings tried riding his bike and caused his seat to lower. Even though we've tightened the bolt plenty of times, Tommy is still convinced that anyone who tries to ride his bike, even the kids his size or smaller, will make it "tiny" which is his pet peeve. He throws himself on the sidewalk and refuses to even try to ride his bike if he thinks it is in a "tiny" state!

Flagfootball September 2010

Two favorite pictures of Fletcher as part of the Wolfpack team coached by Pastor John. He was finally on a team that didn't win EVERY game! (A first for him after two undefeated soccer seasons and undefeated football and basketball seasons last year with the Upward league.)

August 29, 2010 (one week old)

A mini-Moses crossing the Red Sea on dry ground?
The kids are wondering what happened to all the fun crawdads they'd caught two weeks before.

The protective Big Sis is doing a great job carrying and covering her newborn brother!
I love this Fletchie expression!

After Noah's outing to church, the kids and I stopped by a favorite play-place in our local creek only to find it had dried up!

Sarah with Noah, week one

Sarah loves holding her brother, especially on family walks!
Sarah was so excited to show her new brother off at church!

First Sunday attempt at all FIVE kids together for one picture

Noah went to church for the first time on August 29th, the Sunday after he was born.

Fletcher and Gammy with Noah (week one)

Fletcher and Gammy are laughing at Noah's gangster hand signals.

Dough Dough's baby feet (week one)

I love his precious feet!

Tommy loving Noah his first week of life

Tommy has called Noah "Dough Dough" since we found out we were having a boy. We have all affectionately called Noah by his Tommy nickname ever since!

Noah's First Week of Life

I love this picture of Gammy's hand and Noah's.

Am I really a Mommy of FIVE?! Wa-hut?!?

Parie LOVES her baby brother!

Paris absolutely loves serving her brother! She cuddles him, changes his diapers (!!) and sings to him her own made-up lullabies. She claims, "Noah loves my songs!"

Tommy's Reportings about Gammy, Popsy

Over the past couple months, Tommy has reported:
"ah, Gammy do" (when I scratched his back in bed)
"ah, Gammy go" (EVERY time we drive past Tagawa Garden store where we went with her)
"ah, Gammy sing" (when I sang "Hand in Hand" on our walk)
"ah, Gammy have" (when we see red wagons, chickens, black labs, reading glasses, a gray kitten)
and the story about Pokie Pone's tail swishing his face, "ah Gammy's pony, tail, my face, oww!"
about a canoe, "ah Popsy have, boat!"
and then during Popsy's visit, "Popsy NICE! Popsy, my Friend!"

"Batman saves the day!!"

We hear that phrase only like a gazillion times a day as our precious Tee Tommy pretends Batman is battling any one of the numerous "bad guys" that seem to plague his world. Batman interacts daily with Woody, Buzz, Iron Man, The Thing (whom we fondly dubbed Orange Crush) and a variety of Star Wars guys. Batman always saves the day, however!

Noah or E.T.?

And Paris hasn't even seen the E.T. closet scene, but she's definitely recreated her own version of it every time she snuggles Noah into her princess chair!

Grandma's boys sure are silly!
